Lloyd Receives Grant for Rail Trail
The Town of Lloyd secured a $1.5 million grant from the New York State Department of Transportation to finish the expansion of the Hudson Valley Rail Trail in Highland. The trail follows an abandoned railway bed and already offers an excellent resource to runners, bikers, walkers, roller bladers and others who like to take in the scenery. Additional portions of the old railway trail will be paved, enhancing the experience of those that already use the trail. This project, in addition to a waterfront park proposed in Highland, evidence an increased desire to make recreational opportunities readily available to residents of the town and to improve the quality of life of the community.
