State & Conservation Agencies to Buy Farmland in Marbletown & Hurley
The State Department of Agriculture and Markets in conjunction with Scenic Hudson and Open Space Institute is in the process of purchasing rights to 379 acres of farmland in Marbletown and 268 acres in Hurley. The development rights are being purchased in order to protect these properties from being developed for residential or commercial construction. This purchase will help maintain the rural charm of Ulster County and will assure that our farming heritage is preserved.
