Foreclosures increase from 2006, but Hudson Valley well below national average

Data reported by RealtyTrac revealed that the Poughkeepse/Newburgh/Middletown (Hudson Valley) metro had a 12.5% increase in foreclosure filings in 2007, when compared to 2006. The national average of foreclosures increased 79.2% in during from 2006 to 2007. The number or actual filings for the Hudson Valley was in the lowest 10% of all 100 metro areas used for the statistics.

The stats show that while there is an increase in foreclosure activity in the Hudson Valley, our local housing market remains one of the more stable areas in the country.
