Application Cutoff for Agricultural District Certification Approaches

Ulster County Landowners have an opportunity from March 1-March 30 to submit an application to have their agricultural land included within a certified New York State Agricultural District.

A packet with documents should be submitted to the Ulster County Planning Board for consideration. That packet should include a completed worksheet, a copy of the tax map for the property and a description of the land.

January Ulster County Homes Sold Report

The trend of a decreasing number of homes sold in Ulster County continued in the month of January. In January 2008, 100 homes sold versus 74 in 2009. The median home price actually held relatively steady at $226,300, which represented just a 2.5% drop.

Once more, this data points to the fact that while sales numbers are down significantly, the median price for sold homes has not dropped to the extent that it has in many areas in the Hudson Valley region.
